Level 2 Social Studies

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Morley

Time to get hands-on with an issue that’s been getting under your skin – and really make a difference. This is your chance to choose a social issue that interests you and use the course to see through a project that will give you the chance to get involved and enact change. You’ll be able to choose whether you work alone or in a small group.
This course would suit students who are genuinely interested in social issues and really want to make the world a better place. Possible activities: You’ll need to be an independent and motivated learner (although you’ll get plenty of feedback and advice from your teacher.)
• Find out: conduct an in-depth inquiry into a social issue
• Get involved: plan and take action to make a difference regarding your social issue (at Level 3 this will include policy change)
• Evaluate: your actions and those of others. Did you effect change? How and why?
This course does not include any externals, so is not suitable for course endorsement.
